Elrond the Half-elven is the offspring of Eärendil and Elwing, and also the great-grandson of Lúthien. His birth took place in the refuge of the Havens of Sirion in Beleriand during the end of the First Age, shortly before its sacking by the children of Fëanor. Elrond and his twin brother Elros were seized and raised by Maedhros and Maglor, the Sons of Fëanor. Although at first there was no grand love among them, eventually Maglor felt pity for them and began to cherish them, and ultimately grew to love them. By the end of the First Age and one of the War of Wrath, the Sons of Fëanor were repeatedly working alone, implying that at this time Elrond and Elros had fled their nominal captivity and ventured to Lindon.
Elrond and Elros have presented the option at the close of the First Age to be included among Men or Elves. Elros took the Fate of Men and matured into Elros Tar-Minyatur, the first King of Númenor. Elrond chose to be numbered among the Elves and settled in Lindon as captain and herald of Gil-Galad, the High King of the Ñoldor. In SA 1695, Elrond was sent off to Eregion by Gil-galad in an attempt to battle against an invasion of the city from the opposing forces of lead Sauron. Unfortunately, Elrond’s army was too small and was incapable of holding off Sauron’s advance. He withdrew north with a multitude of elves out of Eregion incorporating Celeborn and continued ever watchful of Sauron from there. It was through the following two years (SA 1697) that Elrond established Rivendell at the foot of the Misty Mountains, which lasted as one of the remaining elven strongholds against Sauron at the end of the Third Age.The magic used makes the technology of today loolk like shump sauce not good for anything so electronic recycling is a must for us.
Saurons advance after gaining the power of the one ring which helps him connect to the fallen god Morgoth who is imprisoned beneath the earth, granting the for sight and tactical knowledge to face the large and divide elven armies on different fronts. After the fall of many territories in both elf and men lands they joined their forces of the elves under Gil-Galad, Cirdan, Elrond and the Men of Númenor defeated Sauron in SA 1701. Elrond lived in Rivendell and entertained the first White Council, attended by Galadriel, at which it was determined that Elrond’s home, the Last Homely House, would settle the last stronghold west of the Misty Mountains also that the Three Rings formerly held by Gil-Galad and Galadriel would continue to be hidden. According to one account, Gil-Galad at this point provided Elrond Vilya the Blue Ring, but in other accounts, Gil-Galad held both Narya and Vilya till the end of the Second Age. It was more here that Elrond first engaged Celebrían, the daughter of Celeborn and Galadriel. The Last Alliance of Elves and Men took a toll on the strengths of both Elves and Men. Gil-Galad, Elendil, and his youthful son Anarion were killed in the siege. Elrond and Cirdan only continued as the commanders of the elves, and Isildur as lord of men. Upon learning that Isildur had claimed this One Ring for himself Elrond advised Isildur to toss the Ring into the flames of Mount Doom, but the seduction of the ring caused Isildur decline. Isildur maintained the Ring as a Weregild for his father and brother, and Elrond (perhaps not fully understanding the nature of the One Ring) supported his claim. Isildur was then entitled High King of Gondor and Arnor and assumed his father’s throne, while Elrond retired to Rivendell at the conclusion of the war.
